The School of Classics Distinguished Visiting Scholar for 2018 is Professor Suzanne Marchand, the Boyd Professor of European Intellectual History at Louisiana State University.
Professor Marchand’s interests span classical studies, art history, anthropology, history, and theology in modern Europe. She is currently writing a book on the history of the porcelain industry in Central Europe, and several articles about the reception of Herodotus in the nineteenth century.
Professor Marchand will be at the School throughout week 8 and will be giving a lecture on Thursday to which all are warmly welcome.
