Greg Woolf to head up Institute of Classical Studies

medium (6)Greg Woolf will be taking up a new post on 1st January 2015 as Director of the Institute of Classical Studies in London. Greg has been Professor of Ancient History in St Andrews since 1998, and was Head of School between 2004 and 2009. The ICLS is a research centre founded in 1953 by the University of London and the Hellenic and Roman Societies, and is now part of the School of Advanced Studies.

Greg says “I have had a wonderful time in St Andrews, which is one of the best places in the world to teach or study classical subjects. The ICS is a unique place too and I am looking forward to all the possibilities and opportunities my new role will bring.”
