IRIS project in the spotlight

Classics students at St Andrews have been visiting six primary schools near Glenrothes and giving pupils an exciting introduction to Latin. The course is designed by the ‘Iris Project’, an educational charity, and these visits mark the first use of the Iris curriculum in Scottish schools. Teaching about Latin is combined with a taste of ancient history and classical mythology – as well as educational games, such as Latin bingo. For more information tune in to radio 4 at 11am on 9 August!

The students’ activities were highlighted recently by Dr Alex Long in interviews on BBC Radio Scotland  and in the Herald
